The Summer Brews You Should Try

The Summer Brews You Should Try

Summer is almost over…we know, we can’t believe it either. But that doesn’t mean you can’t keep celebrating until it is! Which means you’ll need a good cold drink to cool you down in the summer heat, and we’ve got a few favorites of ours that will do just that.

Sprig

Our newest addition to our inventory is Sprig! Light, refreshing and CBD infused, each of their “CBD beverages is crafted with 20mg of the highest quality, all-natural CBD, derived from agricultural hemp. Sprig  CBD is ideal for healthy, active individuals.” Not only that, but they offer some great flavors! The flavors we distribute currently are Citrus Original, Citrus Zero Sugar, Lemon Tea Zero Sugar, and Melon Zero Sugar.

They even offer a great tip for the perfect summer drink mix, “Create Melon Zero Sugar ice cubes and drop them into your favorite summertime cocktail. You will not be disappointed.” Sounds delicious to us!

Devils Backbone Brewing Company Hibiscus Lemonade

What’s summer without a good fruity beverage and dreams of tropical Hawaiian beaches. Devils Backbone has got you covered with their Hibiscus Lemonade, as they say,

“There are not a lot of fruited malt beverages out there, but not many are craft. Hibiscus Hard Lemonade changes that. The lemon taste comes from…lemons. Specifically, Meyer lemon juice and lemon zest.”

We all need a good lemonade and this one just happens to be low calorie too.

Heavy Seas Beer

Nothing wraps up a good summer like Heavy Seas Beer does. They offer multiple options for the perfect Summer Brew to have. From Americannon to Tropicannon and more, they’ve got the tastes you’re sure to fall in love with, especially on a warm, sunny day at the beach or even your neighbor’s cookout. BYOB, anyone?

Not only that but if you can’t choose just one flavor for the day, they’ve got their Cannon Crew Can Sampler just for you, “The fearless, longstanding leader. The unbound wanderer. The independent trailblazer. The bold and brash daredevil. The Cannon Crew Sampler,” that includes Loose Cannon, TropiCannon, AmeriCannon and Double Cannon.

Holiday Beers

Hoppy Holidays everyone! It’s time to celebrate the holidays with your favorite winter brews and cozy up to the fireside.

We have just the right brews in mind for the perfect holiday night, afternoon, week…so on, really anytime.

The first on our list is Shiner Holiday Cheer, a dark wheat ale, brewed with Texas peaches and roasted pecans. “The malty flavors…are enhanced through the use of malted barley and wheat. And Kräusening ensures a smoothness that makes the subtle peach and pecan flavors all the more satisfying.” We sure think it’s time for some Holiday Cheer!

Another brew on the “Nice List” is Heavy Seas Winter Storm. This Winter Ale is a mix of “pale and darker malts” which give it it’s tawny color and body. “True to the style, Winter Storm’s aroma is nutty malts and earthy hops.” We’d brave the storm for this brew!

We think another great brew to add to your list to try, is Wormtown Brewery Blizzard of ‘78. Their English-Style Brown Ale is created with fresh roasted coffee beans added from “Acoustic Java to give Blizzard of ‘78 a rich,  smooth character.” A good brew to have after a day of shoveling snow.

Winter is the time for staying inside, cozying up with loved ones or even with a good book, and your favorite seasonal brew. What winter brew is your favorite? Let us know in the comments down below.

A History of Heavy Seas Beer

Their mission: To sail new brewing horizons, guided by the winds of traditions, and driven by the quest for adventure.

Hugh Sisson, founder of Heavy Seas, went through immense strides and changes during his years of learning how to manage a business, let alone a brewery.

Wanting to become a stage actor and director, his plan was to make his way to New York City. But Hugh’s father, owner of Sisson’s, a tavern in Baltimore, was able to persuade Hugh to come help him with the newly opened family business.

But when “Hugh showed up to start what he assumed would be a short-term position, his father tossed him the keys to the pub, said “OK, don’t f*** up!” and walked out the door.” What a great start to a story of how the adventurous brews of Heavy Seas came to be!

Leaving the brewery after being there since 1980, Hugh formed a new company of his own, Clipper City Brewing Co., now home to Heavy Seas Beer in 1994. Heavy Seas today now “produces 18 different beer styles and distributes in 17 states.” The company celebrated their 20th anniversary in 2015.
